That’s how I found out what had happened to Pat Jira.
Pat had been on my podcast before, sharing his story of addiction, getting sober and rebuilding his life. Then, not long after, I learned he had been detained and spent four days inside Alligator Alcatraz.
This time, I brought Pat back to hear what happened in his own words.
In this clip, he talks about arriving shackled, the conditions inside, how he was treated and the surreal feeling of telling himself to “wake up” because none of it felt real.
