A MOTHER’S MISSION TO HELP NONVERBAL CHILDREN BE HEARD

November 4, 2025

Some stories remind you what real strength looks like.

In this episode, I sit down with Jill Bellestri, a mother, advocate, and founder of Naples Spelling to Communicate, a mission-driven organization helping families bridge the gap with nonverbal autistic children.

When Jill’s son Alexander was diagnosed as autistic and nonverbal, she refused to accept the limits placed on him. Through years of persistence, therapy, and love, Alex not only learned to communicate, he graduated high school, attends college at Florida Southwest college and even delivered a speech at his father’s retirement.

Now, Jill dedicates her life to teaching other moms how to become “power moms,” to advocate, believe, and fight for what’s possible when the world says it isn’t.

In this clip, Jill shares a moment that changed everything, when her son used a letter board to express thoughts his voice couldn’t. It’s an incredible look at what happens when we listen beyond words.
